Except for the So Cal tour bus crowd who may want to be immersed in something familiar, the concept seems flawed. Few people playing and casino has no one. The property is a short walk from the corner of Sahara and Las Vegas Blvd. It is an area that has not been very popular over the last decade but Lucky Dragon might be just what the area needs to bring it back.
Everything there was great and the staff were excellent. Breakfast is provided in the restaurant. Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop is ideal for tasting Delhi cuisine and is situated in proximity to this Las Vegas hotel. And if anyone from this hotel reads TA, be aware that I won’t stay there until you do. David R when I visited the casino in December about half the patrons were Asian, but there were very few people in there. (This was 830 am.) As I was going in, there was an Asia America tour bus loading with what looked like a full load.
Slots may be king of the ring in North America, but not every gambling destination specifically caters to local players. Canada casino game designer DEQ Systems Crop is bringing an Asian favorite to the new Lucky Dragon Casino in Las Vegas. Adjacent to the hotel lobby, indoor-outdoor tea garden and lounge, Cha Garden, offers 50 teas and serves light Chinese snacks. Jewel Kitchen is surrounded by windows offering a panoramic view of the cooking brigade, and extends onto the casino floor.
How Sports Fandom Impacts Casino Games in Canada
This closure COULD provide an opportunity to diversify, satisfy customer needs and increase profits. Penta project manager Paul Dutmer said his company started on the Lucky Dragon just a few months ago and built one floor per week once the lower part of the hotel was complete. They can then take advantage of “multi-lingual staff and signage” servicing 201 “high end guest rooms and suites appointed in modern Asian style” and a “secluded pool with private bar.” The business property also offers a spa therapy and a community pool for extra charge. We also noticed immediately that there is no place for us to have breakfast or a hamburger if staying there.
I thought they would at least be open Weekends. I spoke to a manager and I was told it is closed until further notice. WOW, two months in business and the main featured restaurant is gone. The sign says “Pardon our Dust while we enhance this area”. Standard suites feature a seating area and larger bathroom.
Under construction Lucky Dragon Hotel & Casino has been struggling for months to find the final $55 million they say they need to finish their visually enticing, Asian-themed resort. But a new plan might lower that final, heavy financial burden, if they can persuade the City to agree to their compromise. It will give Allure some company while not blocking any views and even providing better views. This project will also continue to bring more life into the area.
Don’t Learn How to Gamble by Gambling
Consider options with free cancellation to stay flexible in light of the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19. Guests of the hotel are welcome to relax at the onsite lounge bar. Every room at the 4-star Lucky Dragon includes a flat-screen TV with satellite channels as well as an individual safe for guests’ security. Staying in the 4-star Lucky Dragon Hotel guests can visit Go Pool (2.8 km), the shopping mall “Fremont Street Experience” (3.4 km) and Chapel of the Flowers (1.2 km), among others. Breakfast not worthy of a hotel of this comfort. The casino, which is beautiful, is still not open.
This has to be a mistake for so many reasons. They don’t have to, and hopefully won’t, put a celebrity chef restaurant in the space. But I am willing to bet that at some point they will put in a restaurant, hopefully casual, to reflect with American tastes. Got a “tour” of that casino floor restaurant.
Go Pool is around 10 minutes by car from this designer accommodation, and Monorail – Las Vegas Convention Center is situated within 2.3 km away. I think you just nailed down why their concept was so flawed to start. Even a lot of Californian Asians don’t want to be in that area, I’m sure. A selection of in-room spa services is also available. Lucky Dragon’s pool area offers lounge seating and cabanas.
The top floor of Lucky Dragon houses The Penthouse Suite , offering a guest powder room, living room, soaking tub, formal dining space and butler service. Lucky Dragon offers 203 guestrooms, including 22 suites. Each room features tea brewing equipment and complimentary imported house tea. Located on the Strip’s northern corridor, Lucky Dragon features multilingual staff, and signage, from taxi stands to restaurants, presented in Chinese first and English second. LAS VEGAS – Lucky Dragon Hotel & Casino, offering an authentic Asian gaming and dining experience, has opened in Las Vegas, it was announced Dec. 7.
Guests of the 4-star Lucky Dragon Hotel can dine just outside the property in a highly rated (4.5/5 according to guests’ reviews) quick bites Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop offering Delhi cuisine. The modern property is a 10-minute drive away from the shopping mall “Fremont Street Experience” and only minutes from SLS Las Vegas. The 1149ft-high tapered tripod Stratosphere Tower is at 750 metres from the hotel and Chapel of the Flowers is a mere 1.2 km away.
Upstairs, the Atrium Bar serves specialty cocktails, traditional Asian beverages and modern, Asian-influenced drinks. Now that every floor of the hotel is built, Penta’s remaining work includes finishing the parking garage and constructing the smaller casino portion, Dutmer said. The project is expected to be completed next summer.
Over the past few months, workers have been busy building the Lucky Dragon at a 2.5-acre site on Sahara Avenue just west of Las Vegas Boulevard. The project, which is situated between the Golden Steer restaurant and the Allure condominiums, includes a nine-story hotel tower and a separate casino building. Not far from where the massive, Chinese-themed Resorts World Las Vegas is under construction on the north Strip, a boutique hotel-casino with a similar theme is rapidly taking shape. Placed 2.4 km from shopping venues such as Fashion Show Mall, the 4-star Lucky Dragon Hotel Las Vegas includes a restaurant and a shop. This luxury hotel offers Wi-Fi throughout the property and has a business centre for those staying on business. Dragon’s Alley, inspired by Taipei night markets, serves street food offerings of Taiwan and broader Asia.
On the food side, Willy Ng, of Bay Area restaurants Koi Palace and Dragon Beaux, consulted with Lucky Dragon. Daily, product from Ng’s dim sum facility in San Francisco will be shipped in. The design has also changed since first announced and is being sold with dramatic help from lush renderings by EV&A Architects. The same “lucky” red exterior color remains, but the concept is sleeker, more mature and clearly aiming to draw visitors at this end of the Strip away from their very close neighbor SLS Las Vegas.
Niche-market table games like baccarat and sic bo are enormously popular among Asian gamblers. They rarely spend time on what we might consider to be the most popular live casino games, like slots machines, blackjack or roulette. Thus DEQ’s provision of 11 EZ Baccarat at the new Asian-themed casino is expected to be a superior addition to the property. The Canada casino games company specializes in table games and progressive systems, both of which encompass the firm’s EZ baccarat tables. Cultural differences often separate the most popular live casino games from one region to the next.

Bao Now offers dim sum, soups, rice, noodles, congee and Boba Tea, as well as teas and coffees. Much of the anticipation for the “240,199-square-foot, 201 room, 10 story hotel” has rested on the stunning renderings created by EV&A Architects and the dramatic ruby metal exterior. The project owners now want to abandon the metal finish on the casino and replace it with a “smooth EIFS product that resembles metal panels.” Work on the casino’s exterior has yet to begin. If you’re forced to leave for breakfast, why come back to the hotel until time to get ready for dinner?
I thought it was a little weird there were no signs for anything. Wasn’t sure if that was intentional or if they just didn’t get around to putting them in before the joint opened. To top it all off, it’s a relatively small casino so you feel even more trapped in. It’s not an all-inclusive mega resort of even 1/4 scale of V/P, Wynncore, CP, MGM, MB, etc.
In late August, it was announced that Scientific Games, a much larger developer of online and live casino games systems, had entered into a definitive agreement to acquire DEQ for CA$27.2 million. Lucky Dragon Hotel Casino just held its grand opening on December 3, 2016. Located at 300 West Sahara Ave, it’s just a quarter mile from Las Vegas Boulevard, along the northern end of The Strip. The Lucky Dragon boasts a 7 story, 203 room boutique hotel and a 27,500sq-ft casino designed to attract Asian gamblers from overseas, as well as locals. Every inch of the property exudes an Oriental theme, from the uniquely shaped exterior, to the Japanese lanterns adorning the Dragon’s Alley restaurant within. First-floor Pagoda Bar, on the casino gaming floor, offers full bar service, and serves teas and other non-alcoholic beverages.
Not only does it look deserted, but I also don’t see any of their core business in that casino floor photo except for the dealers. The Lucky Dragon Casino opened in December 2016. It started with a Chinese Snack Bar called Bao Now, which remains open and busy for a Wed night. They also have a high end Chinese Restaurant, called Pearl Ocean, which remains open. The main Restaurant called Dragon Alley, also Chinese has failed and will remain closed until further notice.
